Happy Ayyam-i-Ha!

I started this new blog, but it's giving me trouble, so I can't post captions above each picture. Instead I'll have to summarize the latest events first, and leave the pictures below, scattered and random!
We had a very nice Ayyam-i-ha this year. We decorated the house with balloons, streamers, tissue-paper flowers, real flowers, and a sign ( I didn't get pictures of everything though). Sasha made Ayyam-i-ha goody bags for some of her friends. We went to a party where she helped decorate bags that were filled with things needed for a homeless shelter, as well for an emergency shelter for women and children. It was a nice service project, and met some great people.

We got Sasha the next four books in the Magic Treehouse series. She really loves these books and was thrilled to get the next set. She sits on her bean bag, and literally for hours, reads and listens to these books on CD.
We also got her a bike! She's been wanting one for a long time, and has been waiting patiently for it. We found a good deal on one so we decided that Ayyam-i-ha would be the perfect time to give it to her.
She took it out immediately for a test ride!

We recently found out about a siblings class offered at the hospital. It was a great thing for Sasha to attend because they taught the children how to change a diaper, how to swaddle a baby, how to hold them (using toy babies that weigh the equivalent of a real baby). They also talked to the children about the size of toys that can be given to babies, and that if the object was small enough to drop through a toilet paper roll, it was too small. The kids were given a roll and asked to check all their toys, and put away those that were dangerous. They even addressed emotions, and showed a video about other kids with siblings and how they felt during the transition. It gave us a lot to talk about.
The weather is warming up (apparently, winters are kind of unpredictable in Houston- some days warm, some days freezing). But we get out of the house every chance we get. Some of the pictures below are of these outings, some to the park, some to the woods to gather materials to build fairy houses! (we're just learning how).

And finally, the last couple of pictures are of a Baha'i virtues class in Spanish which we recently started. I'll have to get some better pics next time.

We found a home that we really like and we made an offer. If all goes well, we'll be moving in in May! Our baby Oliver, (in Spanish it's Olivier) will be arriving in June!
